Behind the Scenes of Our Farm Drive Culvert Additions in Virginia
This long farm driveway passed through two collection points for massive volumes of water coming off the sloped farm fields. Originally, large stones were used at those collection points to keep the driveway intact, but over time the stones were covered by crop residue and soil or eroded due to heavy rain. Seeking a permanent solution, the farm owners contacted Rogers Excavating, LLC. Read on to see the start-to-finish process for our farm drive culvert additions in Virginia.
In this photo, you can see how the driveway looked as our excavation contractors began the project.
Laser Precision for Pipe Drainage
Amateurs might waste time and money guessing what a pipe drainage slope should be—not us. We utilize the latest technology to finish your projects on time and within budget. In this photo, Blake is working with Kyle McMillion and SITECH to ensure our new Trimble laser tool is correctly affixed to the excavator’s boom to calculate slope with absolute precision. No uncertainty about the correct depth for our culvert installations, no wasted time, and no comebacks to fix drainage problems.

Zero Guesswork During Installation
In this clip, our new Trimble laser is in place and ready to work. The laser system continuously calculates the ideal trench slope for the culvert pipe we’re installing. No guesswork here!
Bring on That Rain
We’ve completed the culvert installation, seeded and strawed the collection areas and drainage ditches, and regraded the driveway. Bring on those Virginian thunderstorms! There won’t be any more issues with flooding or erosion here.
